...There’s something individually apocalyptic in it- a personal apocalypse ...
— Ed Sanders, "Please Kill Me"

"WE'VE ALL FOUGHT ON ONE OF LIFE'S BATTLEFIELDS, SOMETIMES ALONE & SOMETIMES WITH THE AID OF THOSE AROUND US. I CREATE METAPHORICAL WARRIORS; SYMBOLS OF STRENGTH & EXPERIENCE. I CREATE VIBRANT LANDSCAPES & PALETTES INFLUENCED BY MY CHILDHOOD'S DESERT SUNSETS & SURROUNDINGS. MY MOTIVATION STEMS FROM MY THOUGHTS OF SELF-EMPOWERMENT; THE PEOPLE, PLACES, PAST, & FUTURE THAT MAKE LIFE WORTH FIGHTING FOR. THESE WARRIORS ARE BASED ON MY FRIENDS, FAMILY, AS WELL AS SYMBOLS & EXPERIENCES RELATED TO MY IDENTITY.

I'M INTERESTED IN THE IDEA THAT AN AUDIENCE CAN BECOME ENGULFED MENTALLY & EMOTIONALLY INTO THE ENVIRONMENT & CHARACTERS OF A PAINTING OR ARTWORK. I DEPICT THE HUMAN FORM IN ORDER TO CREATE FEELINGS REGARDING THE POWER OF HUMANITY, OF FIGHTING TOGETHER, & OF SELF - INSIDE THE VIEWERS. THE RELATIONSHIP SOCIETY HAS WITH TECHNOLOGY & REVOLUTION HAS INSPIRED ME TO EXPLORE MY OWN APOCALYPTIC & SURREAL DEPICTIONS OF FUTURISTIC WARRIORS, WEAPONS, & BATTLE ZONES.

THROUGH COLOR, FORM, SPACE, & DRAMATIC LIGHTING, MY PAINTINGS ARE THUS FAR, FUSIONS OF THE PAST, THE PRESENT, & THE UNKNOWN FUTURE; CALLING THE VIEWER TO CONNECT AND QUESTION THEIR PERSONAL AND SOCIAL POLITICS. THE DESERT, IN WHICH I FOUGHT MY FIRST BATTLES, PROVIDED A VERY LARGE & DIVERSE FAMILY. I BELIEVE IN A FAMILY NOT ONLY OF BLOOD, BUT ALSO OF HEART AND MIND. BY CREATING THESE FUTURISTIC WARRIORS & WORLDS, I INTEND TO DEPICT THE IMPORTANCE OF SEEING SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL & EMPOWERING ABOUT LIFE'S INEVITABLY CONSTANT BATTLES, REVOLUTIONS, LESSONS, & MEMORIES.

I URGE YOU TO LOSE YOURSELF INSIDE EACH PIECE, & TO SEE THAT STORY THAT BELONGS TO YOU."
